Hola! and welcome to my blog,
Today I am hoping with other 29 Stampin‘ Up! Demonstrators from all over the world to support Brest Cancer Awareness. We all have designed PINK projects for this hop and I am really curious and exited to see what my colleagues have prepared for today.
One of the most sad things I have observed, is how much economic conditions can be a decisive factor on weather these warriors will win their battles or not. At least what I have seen in Colombia is very discouraging: for people to get opportune treatments and timely doctor appointments, they have to be privately insured or pay up in front thousands of dollars. Medicine is expensive and social insurance only offers specialized treatment on selected cities. So only those that have the means to pay and travel on daily basis to the health centers really have a chance to fight a fair fight against cancer. I think this is one important issue that is widely overlook when talking about this decease.
As for my protect, I have made this card for someone dear to me and that is fighting against cancer:
I have recently discovered how to make „cards in a box“ and since it is so easy, I am happy experimenting with that and the (oh so many!) options to create one. This time, I took the lovely – and my ultimate favorite from the holidays catalog – „Take out“ thinlit dies to make the „vase“ for the card. I cut off the bottom flaps of the box so that it could fold flat in the envelope.
The „vase“ for my flower bouquet is made with „melon mambo“ card stock and for decoration stamped with „Versamark ink“ for a ton-on-ton effect. I found the perfect sentiment for the card in the stamp set „Big Thank you“ and stamped it with „lovely lipstick“ ink on a scrap from „petal pink“ card stock.
The flowers were punched with the „Daisy Punch“ out of the beautiful „Petal promenade“ designer paper. Since the box is so tiny, I had to modify the size of the flowers so the proportions were right. For this, I cut the petals from the punched flower and glued them back in layers onto a half inch circle.
I colored the envelope with a sponge brayer and „petal pink ink“ and decorated it with some stamps of the „timeless textures“ stamp set.
Thank you for visiting my blog! I hope it has created some awareness and inspired you to create your own project for someone special to let them know you care.
Now let us hop together to see all the wonderful creations from the other participants on this blog hop.
